Ready for an exciting Tinseltown evening, Michael Fassbender was on-hand for the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, California on Sunday evening (January 15).

Taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the Irish-German actor suited up as he meandered through the arrivals area before heading inside prior to the show's kickoff.

Among the esteemed trophy contenders, Fassbender is up for Best Actor in a Drama for his work in "Shame" while competing against George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.

"We knew that this was going to be a challenging piece for some audiences, so I am especially delighted that the HFPA have acknowledged my contribution to Steve McQueen's amazing film. I am thrilled—thank you," he said of the nomination.

As for the ceremony, Ricky Gervais is the host of the Golden Globe Awards - which air live on NBC beginning at 8PM ET/PT.
