In the sea of black, white and grey sweaters during the winter season, a person wearing a red sweater will stick out like a STOP sign. Putting on a red sweater during the winter season is absolutely amazing since not only does it makes you appear different from those in your immediate surroundings; it additionally makes you look confident and brave. When many people choose darker colours and pastel shades for their winter wardrobe, choosing to put on a red sweater could enhance your other wisely dark and sombre outfit.

Nowadays, in terms of winter fashion, dark and pastel shades continue to be the top choices among designers and fashionistas. But, as mankind progresses and gets a lot more expressive with their clothing, the choice of colours to be worn during the winter is not as limited like it was a couple of years ago. Slowly, bright summer colours like red, orange as well as yellow are making their way into our winter wardrobe. Brands like Forever 21, H&M and Nordstrom tend to be much funkier in their designs of red sweaters when compared to brands like Old Navy and Hollister. It is because these brands cater more to the teen and young adult demographic. Their red sweaters are available for both men and women. With regards to price, Forever 21 and H&M are definitely the inexpensive of the three. Starting at around 15 dollars per sweater, the price could definitely be afforded by most members of their target demographic. Nordstrom however are quite pricier. With most of their sweaters start at around 100 dollars per sweater, not everyone can afford them. On the other hand, because of the high price, sweaters from this brand include lifetime guarantee thus making the purchase a wise investment in the long run. But fret not, the brand always carries out sales and in one of their sales, the price could decrease to as low as 50 dollar a piece. The maintenance of sweaters coming from all three brands is quite low as a majority of sweaters from all three brands are machine-washable.

While Forever 21, H&M and Nordstrom are much targeted towards the younger demographic, Old Navy and Hollister is much more focused on the adult market. It is highly evident through their designs of red sweaters. Their designs are much more sophisticated. For the men's line, the design is a lot more macho and masculine. There are odd adolescent designs here and there, however these designs are very rare. For the women's line, the design in a lot more feminine with more emphasis being given on the female curve. The same could also be said for sweaters from Kohls.
